Residents of Ntuzuma – KZN are reeling in shock after a 28-year-old mother of four was allegedly kidnapped and raped repeatedly by two men over five days and nights. The victim’s ordeal came to light when she sought assistance from a resident of Ntuzuma – KZN on Friday, March 3, 2023.

According to a statement by the spokesperson of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), Prem Barlim, the victim was forced into a vehicle by two men while she was walking to a tuck shop on Monday night. The abductors blindfolded her before driving to an unknown location where they forced her to consume alcohol and, as per her belief, drugs.

“The two men then took turns raping her. The sexual assault continued for the following five days and nights. They repeatedly forced her to consume alcohol and denied her food and water. She allegedly lost consciousness several times,” Barlim said in the statement.

The victim was dropped off in E Section, Ntuzuma – KZN, after the men asked her to take a bath. She sought assistance from the public, but she was ignored due to her condition reeking of alcohol. She sustained several lacerations and bruising to her body.

The Ntuzuma SAPS are currently investigating the incident further. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and there is widespread anger and outrage over the incident.

“The incident highlights the vulnerability of women and the need for communities to be vigilant in keeping their members safe. The authorities must take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure that such incidents are not repeated in the future,” Barlim added.

The RUSA spokesperson has urged the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators. It is crucial that the victim receives the support and assistance she needs to recover from her ordeal, he emphasized.
