Police have arrested a popular Amapiano singer for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl in Stilfontein.
The 24-year-old Amapiano star, whose name has been withheld, was reportedly arrested by police on December 28 in Stilfontein, North West.
The star was arrested on a rape charge and taken to the hospital after allegedly being injured by the victim’s family. He was then taken to the police station, where he apparently spent the new year in police custody.
Acting hospital spokesperson Tefo Tladi, confirmed that the singer was admitted after having a head injury but was later discharged after being in a stable condition on Monday, January 2.

He made a brief appearance in Stilfontein magistrate court on Tuesday, January 3, where he said that the person who injured him also took his phone.
Provincial police spokesperson Colonel Adele Myburgh confirmed that the singer was arrested after being accused of raping a 14-year-old girl.
According to a publication by Daily Sun, the singer has opened an assault case against the person who allegedly attacked him, and at the time of its publication, the case was not yet registered as the investigating officer was still awaiting a doctor’s letter.
