An alleged Verulam drug dealer was shot dead shortly after leaving a bar in the early hours of Saturday on Wick Street, Verulam CBD.
According to witnesses, three males in a silver BMW (registration unknown) pulled up next to him shortly after he left the bar. One of the men is said to have exited the car and shot the man once before fleeing the scene.

Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the scene at approximately 00:27, where they discovered the unresponsive body of the male lying on a pavement. The man had an Okapi knife with an exposed blade in his right hand.
One used 9mm cartridge was found at the scene. Witnesses on the scene also alleged that the deceased was a drug dealer who operated in Verulam CBD.
