Woman, 31, stabs and kills newborn baby in a toilet

A 31-year-old Kwazulu-Natal woman has been arrested after she allegedly stabbed and killed her newborn baby at a shopping centre in KwaZulu-Natal on Tuesday, December 20 2022.   According to reports, the woman had gone into labour and given birth on her own whilst she was in the bathroom of a shopping centre in Sundumbili. The woman is alleged to have stabbed the baby afterwards.   According to IPSS Medical Rescue, she was found holding her dead baby, whom she allegedly killed with a pair of scissors. Read Also: Baby Survives 19 Days in a pit toilet after it was dumped by it’s mother According to Daily Sun, one woman revealed that she was shocked by the incident and revealed that she was saddened by this as many women want to have children but can’t, and this woman decided to kill hers.  

“This is very sad. Many people want babies, but this woman gives birth and kills it. She should have just had an abortion in her early pregnancy rather than carry the baby and then kill it. “I’m still shocked,” she said.  

KZN police spokesman Colonel Robert Netshiunda revealed that the woman is expected to appear at the Mtunzini Magistrates Court soon.
