- Gauteng mom was sentenced for raping her daughter amongst other charges.
The woman stated that she committed such acts to gain her boyfriend’s approval and attention. The Pretoria North Magistrate Court handed the mother over four life sentences on multiple sexual assault charges.
The mother, 39 years old, was sentenced on the following charges:
- Four counts of rape,
- Two counts of sexual assault
- Three counts: creation of pornography and also exposure to genitals.
These acts were committed in collaboration with her boyfriend on her five-year-old daughter for their pleasure.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the woman started assaulting her daughter sexually after she entered into a relationship with a man.

The little girl had to endure such an awful experience for up to four months. She was constantly raped with objects by the couple from December 2021 to March 2022.
“When the boyfriend was at his place, the mother would take pictures of the child’s private parts and videos of her performing sexual acts on the child and send them to her boyfriend for his pleasure,” NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said.
The couple were eventually exposed after the woman sent a worrying video of the child to a friend on WhatsApp, who then reported the case to the police.
“She told the court she committed all those offences because she craved the attention of her boyfriend and wanted his approval since she was taking care of her 15-year-old child living with disability,” Mahanjana added.
She pleaded guilty to all 10 charges against her and made a plea to the court to give her at least 20 years.
The state prosecutor asked for life imprisonment as she had failed to offer her daughter adequate protection but rather took advantage of her and used her for a relationship.
The case against her boyfriend was adjourned to February 2, 2023, for a possible plea.
