Teen arrested for allegedly raping his 54-year-old aunt | Shocking

Mpumalanga – A 17-year-old teen was arrested for allegedly raping his 54-year-old aunt on countless occasions in Molapomogale in Kameelpoort near Vaalbank.   It is said that the aunt reported this to the police as she could not handle the sexual abuse anymore. She further alleged that her nephew started sexually assaulting him between April 2022 and September 2022.

She is also said to have reportedly warned the teen to stop with his abuse, but her plea was disregarded, thus leading to her reporting the matter to the authorities and the case being assigned to the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences Unit (FCS).

 

“The case was investigated thereafter, and the suspect was arrested on Thursday, September 22, 2022,” said Colonel Donald Mdhluli.

“He appeared in the Mbibana Magistrate’s Court on Friday, September 23, 2022. “The case was postponed to Monday, September 26, 2022; in the meantime, he was remanded in custody,” said Mdhluli.

  The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, has since raised a concern regarding cases that mostly go unreported as they usually happen behind closed doors.   “Women should break the silence on gender-based violence issues which have been engulfing our communities. This calls for all of us to commit ourselves to fighting this pandemic, “said Manamela.
