Two brothers, ages 16 and 19, have been arrested for allegedly killing an 18-year-old Thabo Mokwena next to a local pub in Praktiseer in the early hours of Monday, December 26, 2022.   According to reports, the police received a call from a community member who saw the body of an unknown man lying next to a pub in Praktiseer.   Police Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo said that on the arrival of the police to the scene, they discovered the body of a man with stab wounds.   “The localstandby detectives took over the docket, and within hours, they managed to trace and apprehend the suspects at about 10:50.”

“The deceased was later identified as 18-year-old Thabo Mokwena from Shushumela, Praktiseer,” said Mojapelo.   Lieutenant General Thembi Radebe, the Limpopo Provincial Commissioner of Police, has since warned people about alcohol abuse, citing it as a major contributor to an increase in crime such as murder and assault.   The siblings are expected to appear at the Praktiseer Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, facing charges of murder.
