A suspected cable thief was killed after he got electrocuted while trying to steal cables in Shastri Park on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Reaction Unit South Africa, they got a call from a resident requesting medical assistance at about 22:19 for a male who had been electrocuted.

The man got electrocuted while attempting to steal high-voltage electricity cables from a light pole. RUSA members were immediately dispatched to the scene.
On arrival, the members discovered the unresponsive man lying on the ground. The man showed no signs of life and was declared dead on the scene.
