41 year old man discovered dead on his driveway

A 41-year old KwaZulu-Natal man was discovered dead on the driveway of his home on Primrose Drive on Monday afternoon (26 September 2022).   It is said that a Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) member was on patrol in the area when he was flagged down by an individual at about 20:12. The man then informed the officer that they were conducting a wellness check on the man when they found him lying at the entrance of his yard.

“Upon investigation, he was found to have sustained a penetrating wound in his head. A 9mm pistol was discovered next to his body,” said RUSA.   Reaction Unit South Africa’s medics were then called to the scene and, on arrival, they found that the man had sustained a single gunshot wound to his head and was pronounced dead on the scene. Circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unknown.
