Finally, Dimitri du Toit, 37, was convicted of 27 years in prison after almost two years in custody in Hermanus Regional Court on five different charges.   According to the report, du toit committed several crimes around Gransbaai, which include housebreaking, the kidnapping of a 57-year-old man in November 2022, and the hijacking of three vehicles. On November 27, 2022, the 37-year-old accused was sentenced to 27 years of direct imprisonment.   It is said that the accused was convicted on five charges: robbery with aggravating circumstances, kidnapping, attempted robbery with aggravating circumstances, housebreaking with intent to commit a crime unknown to the state, and housebreaking with intent to steal.

  Moreover, let the sentence unfold as follows: 27 years in prison, which was divided into 15 years for robbery with aggravating circumstances, 10 years for kidnapping, of which five years will run simultaneously with the 15 years, seven years of direct imprisonment for attempted robbery with aggravating circumstances, and five years for housebreaking with intent to commit a crime unknown to the state and housebreaking with intent to steal, which will run simultaneously with the 7 years.   Special appreciation was given to Detective Stanford Mark Fourie of Standford Police for the successful investigation that led to the successful arrest of the Du toit by the Western Cape provincial commissioner, Lieutenant General Thembisile Patekile.
