Being a matriculant is tough and stressful, and when the application window opens, the matric stress goes way beyond that with many pupils failing to apply. Hence, we’ve compiled a list of universities with late applications for January 2023.
Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
University of Fort Hare (UFH)
The University of Fort Hare is expected to open its late applications on January 21, 2023, and this is for selected courses only. According to the university, late applications will only be accepted online. For more information on this, visit this UFH page.
According to the Careers Portal website, the following universities are also available in expected to open up their late applications; however, with Rhodes University, it was reported that it won’t open late applications in 2023; however, IspotDaily doesn’t have any information at its disposal that suggests that the university will or will not open them.

Remember to apply for NSFAS before applications close on 31 January 2023. You can apply by visiting the MyNSFAS website, opening an account, and proceeding with creating a new application. Remember that opening an account doesn’t mean that you have applied; you still have to create a new application on the platform.
Matric results for the class of 2022 will be released on the 19th of January 2022 and students can fetch their results from the centres where they sat for their final examinations.
