Loan Shark, 24, killed while using a toilet

KwaZulu-Natal – A 24-year-old loan shark was murdered in his home while using an outdoor toilet in Somkombo, Ndwedwe, on Tuesday night.   Ndwedwe Police contacted Reaction Unit South Africa, requesting medical assistance for the male. On arrival, a large crowd was gathering at the scene.   “Medics were escorted to an informal toilet situated approximately 30 metres away from the main building.”   “Upon examination, the victim was found seated on the toilet with his pants around his ankles,” said RUSA.   The man had sustained ten gunshot wounds to the anterior part of his body and was declared dead on the scene as he showed no signs of life.

According to the victim’s mother, her son told her that he needed to use the toilet. She then waited for him in the yard when she noticed two men enter the property.   One of the men then stood at the entrance while the other proceeded inside, approaching the toilet. He greeted the victim’s mother and didn’t identify himself when he was asked after greeting the woman.   The mother was unable to identify the suspect due to the darkness. The suspect proceeded to open the toilet door and fire multiple shots at her son.   She then fled to her home. The deceased was identified as being confirmed to be a loan shark, and the motive for the murder was not immediately established.
