Eskom has confirmed the resignation of its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Andre de Ruyter, citing that his last day in office will be March 31, 2023.   In a statement released online, Eskom revealed that De Ruyter agreed to stay beyond the stipulated period of 30 days to ensure continuity as they are still searching for his successor.   “It’s been an honour and privilege to serve Eskom and South Africa.” “I wish all the hardworking people of Eskom well,” said De Ruyter.   Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan thanked De Ruyter for his “sacrifice” and “resilience” in a “difficult” job as he carried an “enormous” burden on behalf of South Africa.
