The death of businessman Mandlenkosi Maphumulo, popularly known as Mampintsha, who was also a member of Big Nuz’s group, was shocking news to many yesterday, December 24. His Gqom star wife, Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo, could not control her emotions as she reportedly jumped on the dead body of Mampintsha. IspotDaily previously reported that the Kwaito star had experienced a stroke last week and was hospitalised at King Edward Hospital in Durban. The singer, 40, had just returned from a gig when he experienced a minor stroke. His family members left behind are his son Sponge and his performer wife, who he brought into the entertainment scene with the Wololo track in 2015.

The reaction of Babes Wodumo after waiting for the mortuary vehicle to arrive was quite sad. A close family friend who informed Ukhozi FM of how she jumped on the lifeless body of her husband as she pleaded for him not to go. As one of the first to hear the sad news, according to The Citizen, DJ Tira said: “This is the saddest day.” We were so close and so happy. We were recently excited about Big Nuz coming back. Why now?” DJ Oskido wrote in a brief tribute: “Someone so special can never be forgotten.” “RIP Mandla, #Mampintsha Maphumulo.” Your contribution to the entertainment world is truly appreciated. However, his family has requested privacy during this difficult time and said that the details of the funeral would be released very soon.
