LIMPOPO – A 50-year-old man who was seen assaulting a 16-year-old boy identified as Kopano ‘over salt’ has been arrested.
In a trending video shared on social media, the White Man is seen Stomping and kicking the teen at gunpoint in a parking lot.
According to reports, it is said that the altercation broke out at the Groblersdal Game Centre in Limpopo when the teen and his cousin asked him to pass the salt at a fast-food restaurant.
In a post written by the victim’s sister asking social media users to make the video trend the sister explains what happened.
“My little brother Kopano was assaulted by this old man at Groblersdal Game Centre today for simply asking him to pass the salt after using it at a Fat Cake Shop, he refused to pass it and threatened Atang [my cousin] that he’ll shoot him. Kopano later intervened that he mustn’t be rude to Atang, he started making threats and further assaulted him,” she said.

The suspect’s arrest comes after the teenager’s mother opened a case at a police station and the suspect is expected to appear at the Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court on Friday on charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and the unlawful pointing of a firearm.
Limpopo police commissioner Thembi Hadebe also mentioned that they “will not tolerate incidents of gender-based violence and attacks on our children and we will ensure that justice prevails for the victim. In the meantime, we urge community members to remain calm and allow us space to deal with the matter”.
