A 30-year-old woman was rescued after being kidnapped by two men she employed as bricklayers as she was doing renovations to her house in De Aar.

It is said that on Monday (13 June 2022) the suspects allegedly kidnapped the female and forced her into the boot of her car before driving off with her. Fortunately, the victim was in possession of her cellphone so she managed to alert her mother about the incident via WhatsApp.

It was then that her mother contacted the police and informed them of the incident and they reacted promptly and launched a search and trace operation. The particulars of the victim were then circulated.

De Aar Saps then partnered with private security company Landile Security Services during the operation and it lead the team to Grasmere Filling station on the N1 South of Johannesburg.

The suspects were found in possession of the stolen vehicle with the victim in the boot, it is said that the victim sustained bruises due to a scuffle that occurred during the Kidnapping. The suspects were then apprehended with the help of the Johannesburg Highway Patrol including the private securities in Grasmere.

The District Commander of Pixley Ka Seme, Brigadier Nomana Adonis expressed her gratitude to all the role-players who were involved in the apprehension and arrest of the suspects as well as the safe return of the victim.
