KwaZulu-Natal – A 10 month old baby girl sustained two deep lacerations to her left thigh after she and her mother (19) were confronted by 3 unknown males in their home in Cottonlands.
It is said that the teen mom and her baby were returning from a friend’s house after watching a movie when they were confronted by 3 unknown males who were waiting for her inside her house.
One of the suspects then stabbed the baby twice on her thigh with a broken bottle before her mother screamed for help. It is said that the suspects fled after they saw community members approaching the house.
Community members pursued the suspects, but they managed to escape. The baby received medical assistance from Reaction Unit South Africa’s (RUSA) medics before being transported to a hospital by ambulance.
The teen believes that the suspects intended to rape her.
