Gauteng- A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with four year old Bokgabo Poo’s
murder, who went missing on Monday October 10, 2022.
A day after her disappearance, the leg of a child was discovered in a shallow grave in a yard in Tamboville, and a mutilated
body was discovered a few metres away from the very same house later that afternoon.
” At that time, the parents of Bokgabo could not identify the body as that of the missing girl.”
“A case of murder was opened and a team consisting of seasoned police officers from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit, forensic experts, Occult Related Crimes Unit and local detectives was formed to prioritise and investigate the case,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo.
Bokgabo Poo’s Body identified
Bokgabo Poo’s mutilated body was discovered about 800m away from the house where her foot was discovered.
Speaking to
News24, Johannes Sibiye, the girl’s stepfather, revealed that police came with a photo of the garment she was wearing on the day of her disappearance before taking them to Springs Mortuary to identify the body on Saturday (15 October 2022).
Bokgabo’s mother and grandmother positively identified the body as that of their missing daughter.
The suspect was arrested in Boksburg North on Friday, October 14, 2022.
