Woman fatally shot 12 times and her boyfriend left injured following a shooting incident

A 28 year old female was killed and her boyfriend (23) seriously injured after being being attacked two unknown suspects. It is said that at about 18:49 on Friday (15 July 2022) a Toyota etios sped into Reaction Unit South Africa’s (RUSA) headquarters requesting medical assistance for the 23 year old man who was shot in the abdomen, hands and his head. According to the victim, he was at his girlfriend’s house when two suspects broke into the house and shot them without warning before searching the house for valuable and fleeing empty handed. The victim further informed RUSA members that his girlfriend was shot but could not confirm whether she was still alive or not. RUSA officers the proceeded to the woman’s house whilst being led by the Toyota Etios. On arrival, RUSA officers found the woman lying in a prone position on the bed and was shot 12 times in the head, neck and back. She was then declared dead as she showed no signs of life. 9mm spent cartridges were found in the room. The motive of the shooting is still unknown.
