The arrest comes after the uncle was questioned and linked to the case. According to reports it is said that police were called by the little boy’s mother after she noticed a suspicious grave near the river. The grave was then dug out and the decomposing body of 2 year old Neo Refemetswe was found and identified by the clothes he was wearing on the day of her disappearance. It is said that Neo went missing on 24 May 2022 whilst in the care of his grandparents but it was only established that she was missing when his mother came back from work to fetch him and failing to locate him following a search by community members and his family. Police officers also joined in on the search but failed in locating the boy. The North West’s Provincial commissioner Lieutenant General Sello Kwena has since congratulated detectives who were on the case for the swift arrest of the suspect. The suspect is set to appear at the Litchenburg’s Magistrate court on Friday 8 julu for murder.
