Taxi driver killed during a robbery at a taxi rank

KZN – A taxi driver was shot and killed during a robbery that took place at the Msalsini Taxi Rank In Everest Heights on Saturday afternoon (11 June 2022). It is said that around 18:44 a Toyota Quantum drove to Reaction Unit South Africa’s Headquarters. The driver was seeking Medical Attention for the victim. RUSa Medics then examined the male and found that he had sustained gunshot wounds to his chest and Right arm and was fatally injured.

It is alleged that the deceased was seated alone in the mini bus when he was approached by the suspect who produced a firearm. The victim attempted to flee by jumping from his seat to the rear and exiting through the sliding door when two shots were fired. He collapsed a few meters away from the vehicle. The suspect fled with cash.

  A person known to the deceased loaded him into the taxi and drove to RUSA offices.
