Tshepo Andrew Mmusi (37) was handed a 15-year sentence at the Atamelang Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 9 June 2022, for killing his father, William Tshegofatso Mmusi (60). It is said that Tshepo was sentenced after he entered into a plea bargain with the State.


According to evidence submitted to the court, Tshepo initially reported that his father, went missing on Thursday, 12 October 2021 but two days later on Saturday, 14 October 2021, he admitted during an interview with police that he murdered his father and burnt his body.

After his confession, Williams’s body was found at Ramabesa Village, Setlagole, and he was arrested and remained in custody throughout the course of the case. 


Due to an excellent investigation by Sgt Mbulelo Victor Isake of the Setlagole Detectives, Tshepo Mmusi was found guilty of murder and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.


Lieutenant General Sello Kwena welcomed the sentence and also commended the Investigating Officer and prosecution for a sterling job and
